30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 17

I never knew what changes it would mean when I saw the offer on the web on 21st of May last year. A year in Taylor’s College, followed by four years of engineering in one of the universities in Canada was beyond my imagination at that point of time. My life kicked off for a transformation after that, and believe me, life has been better than ever for me. I’ve met many people, done things I never thought I can do, experienced fun like I never did before, and practically have relived my life! Now, I wait for another big change in my life – I am going to Canada to study engineering! All of this is happening because of the scholarship I got from the Public Service Department (JPA). It has made a huge impact on my life recently. Thank you, JPA. Thank you, people of Malaysia.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 15

Today, I tried something on http://brass612.tripod.com/cgi-bin/things.html. The website has a list of 100 things to do before I die. As I went through the list, I realised that I’ve only done 14 things out of the list! Disappointed smile This is what I got:

Get cracking. You've got a lot to experience.

I still have a long way to go. I have many things that I wanna do before I die, I couldn’t even choose the ultimate one! Maybe…

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 14

What a day! I spent four hours sitting on a chair while four women took their turns to play with my wavy- more towards curly hair. Alas! Before I knew it, my hair is sleek and straight! A new transformation in my life! Speaking of life, today I’m supposed to post a picture of someone I could never imagine my life without. The perfect candidates for this task are my parents, but they’re already chosen. So, I’m gonna post the runner-ups – yes, runner-upS. They are my sisters and cousins. All of them are important to me, and I can never imagine what fun family would be without them.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 12

Phew! What a busy day! Today, my cousin taught me how to format my laptop (hihi.. thanks kumi! <3 you! ). It's pretty simple, but I'm just tired of installing back all the softwares, including Adobe Photoshop. Speaking about Photoshop, today's photo is is supposed to be about something that I like. Well, that's pretty simple. After a loooooooooooooooooong day in front of my dearest lappie, I think I deserve vanilla ice cream. :P

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 10

If you ask me, life is all about choices. You get to choose what you want to do. Most of the time, I choose insanity. It won’t make sense, but that’s what I’ll end up doing. So, you can guess that I do the most ****** (whatever that means ) up things with almost anyone, as long as that person is sporting. I even act crazy alone. That is why I cannot simply choose a person for today’s challenge. Therefore, I choose the place, instead of person, I do the most ****** up things.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 9

I am at my cousin's house now. Haha. So, today I'm supposed to post a picture of the person who has gotten me through the most. I am proud to say that I am blessed with many people whom i can share my joy and hardships with. So, I couldn't think of a specific person that suits this picture the most. All my family, friends, teachers and even strangers have helped me to get through hard times in my life. So, I decided to post a general picture of people.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 8

My days in Canadian Pre-University has been nothing but fun. I had a totally new learning experience there. I especially adore all my lecturers in CPU because they are very friendly and funny. They come up with sudden, crazed up things at the most unexpected moments. One of them is Mr Rose, who comes up with the best dress-up ideas. He has dressed up as a nerd, soccer player, wolverine, scuba diver and many more. I could never stop laughing in his class whenever he dresses up. Rolling on the floor laughingHere is a picture of him dressing up as a scuba-diver.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 7

I know this is really late, but I’ve been busy the whole day. So, today I’m supposed to post a picture of my most treasured item. For me, all things are treasures. I like to collect gifts and souvenirs throughout my life. When I’m bored or if I miss someone, I’ll just go through those souvenirs to recall sweet memories. Among all my treasured items, the thing that I value the most is my photo album. Nothing can talk to my brain as picture does, and it’s certainly the best way for me to reminisce. Nowadays, it has been so easy for me to look at pictures when I feel like doing it since I can have photos in my mobile phone, but the traditional way of having photos in photo album is a must for me. So, here it is. My most treasured thing.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 6

Kalpana_Chawla_20110503030506
Who knew this small child will become the first Indian-American woman to go into space? Her passion to fly led her to become a NASA astronaut. At her age, she never knew that she was going to be an aeronautical engineer. She never knew that she will explore the outer space. She will always be a girl that I admire. Kalpana Chawla, a person I’d love to trade places with for a day.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 5

Today’s challenge was a hard one for me. I have to post a picture of my favourite memory. I couldn’t find the right memory till just now. I was scanning through my photo albums three or four times to recall which memory was the best among the best. Should I choose an old memory or a new one? Family or friends? Local or international? Then, one of my college best friend called. Both of us talked for slightly more than 40 minutes! Surprised smileAt that moment, I knew the perfect memory for now. Not that other memories are not my favourite, but at that moment, this memory was in my mind all the time. So, here it is! Picture number 5!
day 5
My friends in college and I have done a lot of crazy stuffs. One of it was walking 5.9 km with my friend, Vinotheni. Both of us walked back from Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus to Casa Subang. We even went to a night market on the way that day. It was so fun to chit chat and snap pictures along the way. That day was an unforgettable memory for me, and it is certainly one of my favourite memory. So this is it. Day 5.
Signing off,
Deepa.

30-Day Facebook Challenge: Day 4

Deepavali. I love that day because it has my name. Smile with tongue out Every year has been a blast. For me, it’s a day of family reunion and appreciation. Last year, I had the most amazing Deepavali celebration ever. It’s partially amazing because I won’t be able to celebrate the festival with my family for another four years. Last year’s celebration was different because my cousins and I had a barbeque party at night. We had a fun time eating the barbequed chicken, dancing crazily for songs, talking with uncles and aunties and finally the firecrackers! I’ve had many memorable nights so far, but that night is what I will remember when it comes to Deepavali for the next four years. Here’s a collage of pictures of that night: A picture of my favourite night.
