Me and my stuck car.

I had my car stuck when I was trying to park the car today. I thought I was totally screwed when the car wouldn't move an inch.

It all started when I couldn't find a shady place to park my car near my auntie's house. So I decided to park on the pavement of my auntie's neighbour's house, which was shady because of the bamboo trees. I had parked my car there before, so I was confident that I could do it again smoothly. As I drove towards the pavement, a motorcycle that was parked by the side of the pavement caught my eyes, but I didn't give in to the internal alarm that rang in my brain. I just accelerated my way up to the pavement. As my sister, who was sitting next to me, started to tell me that I shouldn't be parking there, I heard a screeching sound. The first thought that came to my mind was, "Sh*t, I'm in deeeeeeeeep trouble".

I tried to reverse the car, but it only made it worse. I couldn't move my car another inch after a few seconds reversing. I looked at Geetha, who shook her head. Her eyes gleamed with disapproval of what I did. I asked her to get down and see why the car was stuck. Hopelessly, I tried to drive the car to the front to no avail. There were two older guys who were watching my 'stunt', and shouted something in Malay. I could barely understand them, thanks to my 'awesome' hearing, but could understand from their gesture that they were asking me to try to reverse the car again. I know that there is no use in doing that, but did it anyways. The car didn't move. Those two men got down from their car, n came towards me. I got down of the car as well and bent to see how the car was stuck. The car's front axle was stuck at the surface of the pavement. The two men didn't help at all by asking a lot of questions. I couldn't stop answering them before my brain could fully process what was being asked. After nodding to their question, I realised that I just told them that I just got my car license recently. Great, now the guys and the neighbours who were peeking thought that I'm a noob who doesn't even know how to park her car properly.

After advising me to call car mechanics to help me move the car, the two men drove away. I was glad that they did. Then, I called my dad and waited patiently to get screwed. I started laughing, like I usually do when I get nervous, while my sister was constantly shaking her head at me. After 5 minutes or so, my dad came, riding his motorcycle towards us. He parked the m/cycle, looked at the car, and asked me, "Why did you park the car here even though you could see this motorcycle here? You know you won't be able to park the car here.."

Then, he opened the car boot and pulled out a small car lift from it. Then, he asked me to stand by the side while he started to try to lift the car using the car lift and some bricks. After several attempts, he managed to lift the car high enough so that the axle wasn't touching the surface of the pavement. Then, my dad went to find some wooden planks nearby. After failed attempts, he went back home by m/cycle to get some planks from home. But he came back shortly with some planks found near a playground.

He carefully placed the planks under the car tyre before removing the car lift and the bricks. Then, as he reversed the car (successfully), I told myself that I'm never going to do such car parking again. Immediately, I thought to myself, "What are you thinking about? Of course you are going to do it again. But next time, you know what to do."

Yes, indeed. :)
